\nDe C38 werd als nieuw model in 1942 ge\u00efntroduceerd, maar de productie werd al snel stopgezet omdat Amerika in de 2e wereldoorlog betrokken werd .
\nChrysler werd toen een zeer belangrijke leverancier van Chrysler engineered oorlogsmateriaal zoals o.a. de Sherman tanks-de Dodge (WC) Beeps, Hellcat zware vliegtuig motoren etc. ( meer weten search op de allpar.com site ) en zou na de oorlog nog lang leverancier van de Amerikaanse overheid worden tot en met de Apollo ruimtevluchten.
\nVanaf 1947 was de Windsor C38 weer leverbaar en op basis van de oorlogskwaliteit werd de slogan Finest Engineering gevoerd.
\nVoor de kleine groep van de “happy few\u201d in Nederland die wat dollars hadden in die tijd was de Windsor een interessante wagen.<\/p>\n
Onze 2 andere winnaars kwamen uit een heel ander tijdperk:
\n– In de Compact klasse was het Christopher Peycke met een in Zwitserland geassembleerde ( Swiss quality ) Valiant 1962.
\n– In de Future Classics klasse ging de eer naar Nic Vleugels met een rode 1988 Le Baron Turbo Convertible.<\/p>\n
