Ongeveer vijftig auto\u2019s van de merken Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, De Soto, Imperial en – het precies 75 jaar oude merk – Jeep zorgden op deze zonovergoten middag voor een schitterende show op het betonnen platform, bijna geflankeerd door historische straaljagers waarvan de vormgeving ooit als inspiratie had gediend voor de grote Chryslers en Imperials uit de jaren vijftig en zestig die door Nederlandse liefhebbers worden gekoesterd. De overkoepelende organisatie ChryslerClassicCars.nl biedt ook onderdak aan eigenaren van de snelle, klassieke MOPAR straatracers, waarvan er verschillende in Soesterberg aanwezig waren. Tot de tradities van de Chrysler Klassieker Meeting behoort de uitreiking van bekers voor de, naar het oordeel van de jury, mooiste exemplaren. De beker voor \u2018Best of Show\u2019 werd door organisator Hans Ensing – bijgestaan door jurylid Dick Schornagel – uitgereikt aan Perry Dekker en zijn rode Imperial Crown Coupe uit 1960. Als mooiste in de categorie compacts werd de opvallende en zeldzame Dodge Dart Station Wagon uit 1962 van David Pluijm verkozen.<\/p>\n
